<LONG RIDERS ADVENTURERS ASSOCIATION / LRMC >

Greetings, Spring Solstice 1999

Mediocrity and obsession with past indiscretions plague our times, yet the Long Riders continue to cherish the Dream, even as those around us look only for physical and emotional shelter. As the daylight fades we offer one last call of camaraderie. We would hope to see your faces around the campfire, regaling the others with tales of the preceding day’s wonders, discoveries, and warmth. Nothing worth while comes with out loss, and even less remains to grace the sunrise of the following day.

The public’s demand for active participation in the Long Riders Adventurers Association can no longer be humanely ignored. At an executive meeting the board has agreed to issue a few additional membership grants. As the board is comprised of all Life Members in good standing in the LRAA, their decisions are, of course, irrevocable and without appeal. I must state unequivocally that all applicants will receive a fair and compassionate review, and those not selected are encouraged to read our creed, with respect to W.W. If it may be of some solace, very few applications even make it out of the Membership committee, those that do are placed on the ballot, making membership in the LRAA a rather rarified honor, and never one to be taken for granted, or the privileges abused.

In commemoration of the upcoming millennium, the LRAA, formally established on February 17, 1965 and on the eve of it’s 35th year of public service, the MC division will except applications for membership outside of the founding family. Screening will be stringent, yet all would agree that this is not something that can be rushed, as the ramifications could potentially prove fatal to both the worthy and unworthy equally. We will do our best to process all applications in the order they are received. The faint hearted are advised to apply with less demanding organizations, such as the Navy Seals or the Texas Rangers.
